I'll shoot some pics in the next day or so of the bracket made out of some aluminum flashing for 1.70 The old bracket was corroding already.

I also ran some more wire into looms and tied off some more wiring. Much neater.

Unseasonably warm here so I'll post pics of the finished product. I'll also see if I can pick up some of the upholstery and bolt it in before I put it away for the year.

That's the dream actually. I'm hoping to hang out there for a coupe of days in a row for sure.

I got the wiring cleaned up and even hooked up the battery box and strapped it to the floor. The batteries died before I could get that pic in.

Found that my ground wasn't hooked up on the switch to my docking lights and fixed that too. Hopefully the weather stays good so I can get a couple other minor things done like doing the hoase to the bilge pump and hooking up the blower, etc.

The boxes in the garage with parts are starting to empty

It's definately getting there. Picked up the rear deck support that was upholstered and will post pics tomorrow when I get it in.

I also sat on one of my seat bases that is being built at the upholsterer to pick the foam type etc. The seats look spectacular. I'll be scared to get them dirty. He gave me the thumbs up on the seat bases and boxes I built as he's seen many in his time.

Would you mind sharing what some of you upholestry is costing you? Like what are they getting you for a seat? Are they the normal back to back kind? I plan on making new structures for mine as well and then having a pro finish them off. Thanks. BTW, you work is top notch!!!

The whole interior with all the best foam and a master craftsman for the interior is about 2600 but that is in a kind of oil driven inflated economy here. Everything is out of whack here compared to what you can buy in the US. The guy doing my interior has 30+ years experience but also has to charge what the market will bear here.

I'm sure you can find someone locally in your neck of the woods to custom build for cheaper. I'll see if I can post the materials he uses to see what it would cost you locally.

I'd definately recommend him locally but will see if I can get a breakdown on each piece. He's going to do the jump seats, engine cover, the back to back seats and bases, rear deck support, gunwale supports and a rear crossmember support in front of the engine.

I thought I would get away cheaper but building my own and covering with a pro but in the end will get what I paid for in a totally slick interior. The guy can do anything with upholstery from what I can see and and even builds his own custom camper tops, etc with stainless steel frames, etc. I found the right place for sure but not the cheapest.

I need to work more for to pay for it all

Nice Job on the wiring, SP I still have all that to do on the 72, as well as everything else. My brother has an 18' SS he is putting in his grage this week to start the restore on and he only lives a couple of hours from you in Edson.

Cool boat. I was looking for an 18' SS originally and couldn't find one at the time.

The wiring isn't that bad...just time consuming. The only thing I didn't replace was the engine and instrument harnesses but if yours are bad those can be found too.

Still trying. Cutting back on the ot over here so more time for the boat.

Friday is drop off parts for upholstery day.

I need a couple of warm days to get the final coats on the deck done and start on the trailer or the wiring. I'll just keep picking away. Tomorrow I'll print off the wiring diagram and trace the wires and look at the colors to see if they were to standard.

Can you post your wiring diagram please? In the middle of doing mine ('74 Chieftain)

I'll see if I can dig up what I used. It was just something I pulled from the Mercruiser manual that had the colors broken down to what they did, blower wires, etc.

Here's the contour shot. It will get bolted in tomorrrow with the reat of the supports. I may even pop rivet the blower in under the rear deck support.

The material is Softside II Pattern Apex Colour 2555 Midnight - 00303914

The seats are made up of this and the white version of the same thing.

Your upholstery job looks really sharp buddy! Good solution with that padding for your rear deck supports too.

I got the bilge blower pop rivited in place. There were existing holes in the alum so I went with those. I drilled 3/16 holes into the bilge blower flange and pop rivited it into place.

I'll hook up the blower hoses and plumb the bilge pump and fuel/water separator in before the weather totally turns.

I also got the fuel/water separator put together with the brass fittings. Hopefully I can bolt that in Wed afternoon/evening.
