Troop outstanding flat surface! One suggestion if I will when fabing your ski locker lid make sure it allows pleanty of air circulation things in there do tend to get pretty stale.

Tab it in with the 1708 and 3 layers of CSM. Gelcoat it and you're GOLDEN!!!

Hey Troop ..... I've been lurking your thread for some time and I have to say you have done excellent work and a very professional job on that sole. Keep it up and you will be in the water before you know it. Great job!

3 on top of my one or three total?

Keep in mind I still have to mount those dang 12"x12" plywood blocks along the hull/deck joint...should I incorporate the deck glassing with these blocks?

Wow, you are a machine...you have done an amazing job getting all that work done in a weekend...heck, if you and oops! were to get together, you two could prolly restore an entire boat in one week...

Super job!

Have a Great Fourth!

Great work. I'm sure it's nice to have something to walk around on! It's all down hill once you get the deck all tabbed/sealed.

Thank you, GT...Really wasn't that much work, had most of the hard stuff done...

Enough people with enough resources...could do just about anything..but I am not anywhere near oops! caliber...

That would be a show I would watch though...

Thanks EZ...not so sure about it being downhill....but I am getting closer to the goal for sure...still lots of work to do...

Congrats on getting all the deck laid! Looks great! Have a great week...

Thanks JB..glad to have a flat spot to put my feet...my tea...my tools..you get the picture :)

Re: '78 Ebko Lebaron - Therapy

Good evening folks...hope you all had a great Monday...

I found out that there is a tiny problem with having a deck on your boat...especially if you have it outside under a contraption like I put together...

No headroom!! But I can get used to it...
DSC01222.jpg

So I started working on the deck access plates this evening...

Took a 1/4" drill and cut the inside edge of my line...then took air grinder to it...

Then a trick I first learned from my grandfather when I was like 5 or 6 I think...I put some ink on the outside edge of my mating part...
DSC01224.jpg

Stuck it down in the hole...
DSC01225.jpg

Pulled it back out...there are my high spots...
DSC01226.jpg

Light grinding on the high spots...and try a test fit again...

to be continued.....

Continuation......

Rinse/repeat...and you get this...I thought I was being real clever...putting these as close as I could...
DSC01228.jpg

However...I forgot to account for the lids...bummer!!
DSC01229.jpg

Thought it over...figured I could replace these or go with a rectangular plate, if I could find one...

Decided to try jut cutting the lids the same as the bottom part.....and they worked just fine!

You will notice that the lids line up..on purpose...guess if I had put more thought into it, they could be interchangeable too...might take another look tomorrow...these are only sitting in place..can't screw them down and add 5200 until the final layers are put on the deck...

Ummm. I'm assume these lids push in and not screw in...

Sea ya...
