Re: '79 Starcraft SS 16 restoration
Since I still have the splashwell in place I might be ok to flip as-is. Tough call.
My AeroCraft is certainly not a work of art, but it still floats and I'm just waiting on getting some new decals so it's basically finished. The interior needs some attention but that can wait.
I had a nice bonfire last night and burned the rest of the wood from the SS.
We got the entire garage cleaned up and organized, all scrap wood burnt and now I will have an easier time locating parts and tools. That's the plan anyway.
I left the camera in Grass Lake so you guys are gonna have to take my word for now if I make any progress.
I keep telling Roslynn that half of the stuff in the garage goes in the SS once it's finished, so we will be able to park a car in there before long.
I found that without the transom, splashwell and coaming the boat is like a wet noodle. I put the transom, the splash well and the coaming back in before it was flipped to do the hull repair. The shop I took it to advised that I do that to avoid tweeking the entire hull. As it was I had to force one of the stringers back into square.
