How old is the gas in your tank currently?
If that is coming from the bearing and not your hand rubbing the bellows it doesn't sound right.
One other point. Check the book and use the recommended grade of gas. My 1987 3.0L Alpha One was a slow starter when new - until I read the book and switched from regular to the recommended mid-grade. The difference was stunning. Every fall I go a little better and fill the tank with a mix of high test and mid grade and a can of fuel stabilizer, run it for a bit so everything gets in the fuel lines and carb. Never had a problem starting in the spring.
How level is your boat? On mine it was parked at a slant and the tank was low....freaking boat wouldn't start.....I was about to drive myself crazy when I realized I was to low on fuel!!
If you have to question the bearing....just replace it
Yeah i dont know if it is bad thats why im asking u guys lol.. to me it seems good.. moves freely just that little sound u hear in the video..
Thing is if i change the beiring i need to get all those special tools.. lol.
As u guys saw in the pics everything else looks good right ? Nothing to worry about ?
Change all the bellows, change the shift cable, change the gimbal bearing....re install everything and worry about your running issue.
That bearing doesn't sound "good". While you do the bellows you might as well replace the shift cable. Boats are not just about keeping an eye on things, it is about preventative maintenance. It is not like a car where you can pull off to the side of the road.
So why even come on here and ask for people's advise or for help if you're just going to ignore it and do it the way you want to anyways?
After seeing tons of videos and photos.. mine looks great like new really its just that little tiny noise when spinning that bearing quickly.. im going to ask a local tech to see if thats ok most likely hell say no bring it on so we can replace it lolI guess we aren't there and can't see condition. If the u joint bellows looks good leave it. It's your boat.
