Re: calling all lake mead boaters! nevada
I thought about joining your group, it sounds like great times and it would be nice to meet some new people but I would be a very rare visitor since we already have a sizable active group out of Temple Bar, and our regular beach for the year will be by Mushroom which is only about 4 miles from the marina. We do like to take occasional trips up around East point to the Gyps and also up Overton Arm, so we can do the north shore of Virgin as well.
I don't know what gas will be like come summer, but I don't have a good feeling about it. The big block really sucks it down fast. Because of that we have gotten used to pulling behind the PWC's even though some of us have towers. I usually pull for maybe 2hrs/day, and most of that is tri-tubing.
The pic on the group site looks like Sandy Beach. That was a favorite last night stay for our houseboat trips out of Callville.
I have some friends that have a 50' Sea Ray in Callville and we take turns going back and forth to visit. They're usually coming our way because they like coming to T Bar because it's so secluded. They just joined some other good friends of mine in T Bar that have a 28' tri-toon with a small block i/o. They loaded up and went into the Grand Canyon last weekend. That's awesome news because we've missed doing that for many years now. They wrote on my FB wall "Yep...3 miles past Columbine Falls! It was GREAT!!!!!!....and we only hit one sandbar!!"
Mike, I see you joined the boat meetup group. I guess I'll see you out there soon. By the way my name is Ed.
