yes, mickey mouse to me means awesome. The 50/50 mix is for the undercoat and topcoat. Under the direction from the guys at 'international'. They believe that it creates a coat that enhances the final topcoat. I should be picking up the windscreen this week.

thanks guys, AMD, man I can't wait to see that white paint too. Im up to the sanding stage of the top deck. While doing that, i'm repairing scratches, holes, cuts, cracks in the hull. Once done I am transfering the boat to a garage and starting to paint. While the boat is up on brackets, The trailer will be overhauled. Adding trailer brakes, new rims, hubs, rollers coupling and grinding any rust out with a new coat of aluminium rustolum epoxy paint. I may spray the trailer with a cheap spray gun. Not sure yet.<br /><br />cheers

Now the fun starts, Have a look at the big old mercury Ive started restoring today. Remember that the internals have been done. Only new impeller and timming a sync. to go. On to the external rebuild. Just have a look at that corrosion and rust! I already have all the outer cowling parts off and will begin the cleanup and sand tomorrow. I will post pics mid morning. <br /><br />P.S - Just a quick note to all that follow my thread on iboats.com<br />Your support and wisdom is a godsend to my efforts. I couldn't have done most of this without this thread. Now, this project is on 6 sites worldwide and it's all thanks to you at iboats. Lastly, From start to current I have taken in excess of 1000 pictures of my progress, obviously I can't post them all, but if anyone needs pics and explanations on any part of my project just ask. I have step by step pics and details. Sorry to blab.<br /><br />cheers

Two timin' us over here at iboats, huuuuuuuh, tengals? <br /><br />If you can, you should sandblast your trailer and repaint with a relatively inexpensive 2 part polyurethane paint. And I would definitely spray it.

It surely looks great, like brand new. <br /><br />I dont get how you get that much done, I have a hard time getting anything done on boat at all, besides rebuilding house, feeding wife and 4 kids, working long hours .......

Dunaruna, that would have come in handy last week. I looked everywhere for one, the only one I could find was $70AUD. For 2 holes???forget it. The flap actually worked quite well. Not a perfect circle, but close to it. As soon as the gauges fitted I stopped sanding. I actually used the same flap bit for my stainless steel flushmount rod holder holes. I just needed to take the holes out a tiny bit, it was perfect for that application. Still hanging to catch some snappa with ya mate.<br />*UPDATED PICS AVAILABLE*<br /><br />cheers

Tengals123,<br /><br />Wow, your really moving along quickly, especially considering how much detail your going into with the cowel and engine work. And those bucket seats are going to look super. Can't wait to see the interior done with the matching rear seats. I can see how you cut down the seat posts, I know I like sitting low in the boat, kind of has that sports car feel when your driving. Plus it improves handling. With my seat cushion about 11-12" off the floor, I feel another inch or two could be removed from the seat base. I'm interested in seeing what height you end up with.<br /><br />You do a nice job of documenting your work.<br /><br />Mark.

Mark, thanyou for your post. Comming from someone with credibiliy like you have, im rapt. If only my boat would end up 1/2 as good looking as yours. Seat height, windsheild height, bimini height, human height are all things that I had to take into consideration when planing the eye level of this boat. Actually the windsheild is 25mm shorter than the original. The seat bases are also 35mm shorter but the seat and cushions are 37mm higher than my old seats. With my custom bimini going on also, with these measurements, I have a clear, unobstructed perfect view. ( i hope!!! )<br /><br />cheers<br /><br />cheers

heavy sanding has started. The deck is done, the hull and keel has started. WOW! the boat is also off the trailer onto my home-made boat stands. Cheap, and works a treat. Check it out below.<br /><br /><br />cheers
