Durbans epoxy paint formula ,paint on almost anything 100% water proof & petrol proof
when i did my 60hp points conversion , i was looking for a good paint , found TOPLAC ,at 96dlrs , bought the best brushes , but was unhappy with the finishing touch , could see faint brush lines ,So started some research , but could not find a marine paint to do my hobbies & the colors i wanted , as toplac only have a few colors in the book i got from the fiber glass shop & give me a professional finish . i stared experimenting & formulated my own epoxy paint , which is available in all colors in the rainbow & u can also mix & match to suit the color u want to mix , It sticks on almost anything i could find to paint , wood , plastic , rubber , building bricks , aluminum , steel , polyester resin , & doesn't leave paint brush lines , i have even epoxy coated all the water ways in my motor & did some modifications inside the block with it ,drilling & taping threads into it [ the epoxy mix ] , i painted a piece of aluminum & put it in the oven at 89 degrees heat , & it showed no signs of coming off the steel , it gave me the go ahead , to use inside my motor . It cost me 50dlrs to buy ,as appose to 96dlrs , never mind you still have to buy the undercoat that comes with it ,so the price goes up ,k My mix , no under coat , when i finished there was some left in the tin that had gone hard , so i took it out & left it in PETROL , 3 months , it showed no signs of side effects wot so ever , u can spray it on with a spray gun , by mixing it with lacquer thinner to . I called the fiberglass shop owner over to my house & showed him the difference from his product & my mix , THE MAN COULD NOT BELIEVE WHAT HE SAW , THE GLASS FINISH IS GLASSY , DONE BY HAND WITH A PAINT BRUSH . have a look at the leg of the motor , done with toplac , & the gearbox done with my mix , u will see the difference , cheers if you want my formula ask & i will give it to u ,k
