Re: First Boat Project
We have been getting over a cold so still haven't pushed through the last bit of grinding.
I was able to get some of the detailed resto work done. I got the shifter taken apart, cleaned, and repainted. I just have to paint the throttle red and thats it. Also, i found a NOS Evinrude Simplex decal to replace the worn one but for $15 im not sure its worth it. It seems like the bulk of cost in this thing are all the little $15, $10, and $5 things.
I also got the steering taken apart. Got the first few coats of paint on the wheel and the bezel, just need to finish it with a glossy finish.
I took apart the helm panel and repainted that too.
I taped up the decals on the wheel (and that Krylon in the background isnt what i used)
I'm going to need to make an round Evinrude "E" decal for this. The HOT light has a burn in it and i found a NOS one on eBay but $35 is better spent on a gallon of resin.
We have finals this week so i'm guessing nothing major is going to get done till this weekend.
Till then.....
