Re: Magnumdekes 1976 22' Starcraft Islander
Progress report,
We spent the weekend cutting scrap plywood into useable pieces and sanding. Some epoxy got put down Friday and did not set up with it being cooler, until today and my son Connor sanded it down and got it ready for second coat. We have many pieces in various stages, amazed how many pieces I had to go yet, under the gunnel for support and to screw conduit to, side shelves, various lil pieces here and there. Will have to finish seat box/bat boxes, new helm, bat switch/fuse panel enclosure and need to fill in the cabin ceiling for backer to plug all the holes in it. Still got a lot of wood to deal with! goal for the week is to get all the stuff we have cut epoxied, prep the cap for paint and possibly spray some white next weekend, ambitious for sure who knows we will see where it is at next Sunday.
No pics all kinda generic wood work.
So I am thinking of ordering some Nautolex this week, need to determine the glue I am going to use. For seats and misc small pieces I was going to use DAP Weldwood contact cement, seems that it is rated to do the job and on side panels and smaller pieces should work good, how about on the floor with a good plan for laying it? will it be to big a pita to get the floor down wrinkle free?
