Re: Man vs. Boat (season 1).
Decker, JBC, rrumba - thanks for stopping by (even if only to harass me a little).
Well, GT1M was just about right on the money.... Got the estimate today - 3306. Fortunately, I only have to pay 500 of that (deductible). I am sporting a chevy impala for the next couple of weeks, which I must say is not a bad little ride (I am just not used to driving a car, so I feel like my butt is on the ground).
Okay, guys, I am starting to day-dream a bit about the boat, and need for you guys to let me know your thoughts on something (i.e. talk me off the cliff). I am really bugged by the amount of wasted space on the bow area of my run-about. With my big family, I am really thinking of doing some chopping and converting that to open bow seating. I could just cut the deck - build some wooden seats - glass them in, throw some vinyl cushions up there.... The only thing up there right now is the above-deck gas tank. I need some weight up there in the front, but could probably do a sub-deck gas tank closer to the bow.
Thoughts? If you guys tell me this is crazy, then I'll just leave it as is and just make it sort of s show-piece up there with the teak rails, the horn, etc...
Thanks - all opinions welcome.... I need to either run with this idea or shut it down quickly....
Edit: Here are some pics to help with the analysis:
