Man, those are some nice looking fish! I am just over in Daphne, Alabama (Mobile Bay) this week visiting my brother during the kid's spring break. I think I need to talk him into getting a boat... he is a naval architect/engineer working at a shipyard after all. So anyhow, I guess we can be patient for a few days more until you post pics following your mid-week session. Have fun. ;-)
I thought you & Jas were having a somewhat friendly rivalry for the 'man' competitions. This photo makes it seem more like buddy-buddy BFF's rivalry (NOT the WOG type of BF...)Hey guys: Had the good fortune of doing some off-shore fishing this past weekend... Our rig was a custom-built Freeman sportfishing Cat, which I must say was one of the best boats I have ever ridden in... Every ounce of this boat was built with attention to detail and with one purpose in mind: Hard core fishing....

Very familiar with that area... Eastern Shore (Daphne/Fairhope) of L.A. (lower alabama) is one of my favorite places... The redfish in my avatar was caught in Wolf Bay about 30 mins from Daphne... so, yes, I agree, your brother needs a boat... Hopefully you can get some fishing in while you are there...
Hey guys:
Sorry I have not updated in awhile... The boat is still very much a top priority, but a few spring-time pleasures have gotten in the way.... (primarily fishing)....

The twin Yammy (4 stroke) 350s provided some good power....

Yes, I caught the big boy....
The gulf appears to have made a miraculous recovery from last year's oil spill, although a lot of the in-shore stuff (crabbing, oysters) has suffered pretty bad....
We are going out of town this weekend to spend Easter with my wife's family, but I plan on getting out to the boat once (if not twice) mid-week.... I am motivated for some serious progress in the next few weeks... Hang in there... boat restoration will resume very quickly...
....Getting called to dinner (fresh tuna and mahi mahi...yummmmmy).....
Grew up landing big tuna, dolphin, shark, etc etc. Can't wait to get back to the coast and tear it up. When is the best time for tuna down there?.... Those freemans are awesome boats. great trip and catch!!!
Gus, Kent, Roger, JBC, Jason, sphelps, CC, Arch, Baha, pmillar - you guys are great... Thanks for stopping by; I'm glad you found the pics interesting... Have some good video as well that I will be happy to share with anyone once I get it all uploaded.
Nothing like it is there...Just awesome... You can catch them pretty much all year (the guides run about 180 days a/year), but early spring is the best... the Tuna get gradually smaller throughout the spring and summer season..., but the Mahi (the bigger ones) show up a little later, so its a trade.... That Tuna in the pic was 90 lbs... the record for our boat was about 240. We had 16 guys (4 boats) - and one of the other boats caught and tagged a 250 lb. blue marlin... NICE!!
I took some of the fatty part of the tuna steaks that a lot of folks throw out and made some home-made tuna salad for sandwiches... You talk about good.... Wow...
Hoping to get out to the boat today to starting cutting my stringers... Wish me luck
