Ooooooo an Ipod port. What if you wanna listen to a ball game or somthin while fishin..Can you do that thru the ipod?

I have a power converter that I keep in my truck .... I will plug it in to the power socket next to the ipod port and watch the game on my little tv while I am fishing ... lol.

I don't know if you can listen to the game on an ipod .... I know that you can't on the one I have it is an older model.

I have similar carpet. In my opinion, it isn't the type to try to make removable. It's just get all wrinkly and nasty. Glue it. The Roberts 5700 adhesive from Home Depot works awesome and is cheap.

Hey ez .... I think I am leaning towards glue. Did you use some sort of roller or something to press it down?

I only carpeted my bow area so it was small pieces. Notched trowel to spread it around. You don't want any globs cuz it WILL come through (however you can clean it up with a rag and warm water if you accidentally do this). The stuff is pretty thick and sticky so I'm sure just brushing it out with your hands will be sufficient.

Hi Ed ..... I thought about the snaps as well as the velcro but I am afraid of exactly what ezmobee described .... "wrinkly and nasty".

Thanks ..... I saw another iboats member install the same system and thought it was a good idea.

Thanks Ed .... those are nice I just may use them for something else.

Well, the glue won out over the velcro and snaps so I went and picked up the glue today. I am going to attempt to install the carpet this weekend. Thanks everyone for your input.

Went to install the step plates today and realized that I wasn't sure where to put them. Since there weren't any on the boat before, I kind of wasn't sure if it mattered where they go. Does it?

Just a thought process - I'd make my best guess at where your seats will be then try and picture stepping off a dock into the boat. That's where they need to be.

Yep ^^^ They should be place to allow access to the boat between the seats.

Hey Woody .... for some reason that link says that I "don't have permission to access that page". Never had that happen before.

Yes ... I remember when you made them. Although my boat is blue and white similar to yours .... I have a lot of black on mine like the steering wheel, rub rail, trailer, cleats, switches and knobs on the dash. But, I am going to make a set of white ones like yours so if I ever have to replace the black ones I will have them.

Officially caught up... Just read all 23 pages... What a cool boat, and what a great job you are doing!!... I've seen the thread pop up several times, and always thought to myself --how long can a transom repair take? Turns out that there was a nice, full resto going on over here....

Congrats on the great work and look forward to following along until splash..... You are getting close!
