That looks pretty cool you care to share the name of the system? Sounds interesting as I keep thinking the only reason to add an actual radio unit into the boat is for the jack to hook up a player.(actually my phone)

Also kudos on the nice, neat, and organized wiring job at the fuse panel. :)

I can't remember what your doing for seats, but this came up today:

Two good condition boat seats, one has pads one doesn't. Full swivel with ablity to tighten in place, plus slide forward and back. $50.00 for both. Will deliver within 50 mile radius, or you can pick up. call or text three 30 nine 8 four six 9 thirty four. Ask for Greg

Posts are too tall for either of mine, but the seats, swivel & slides would work. Not authentic vintage but....................

Thanks bear ..... I got lucky with the acetone it worked good.

Well, I finished wiring the fuse panel yesterday and to my surprise everything worked ... lol.

If I knew how to post a video I would let you hear the sound coming from the speakers that I installed on the top of the cabinet. (the cabinet is just sitting there in the photo and not yet put into place). It is a marine system made by Pyle which uses your mp3 player. It has a waterproof pouch for your player so it doesn't get wet. It also comes with a volume control and an amp.

Now to put the cabinet into place and on to the carpet.

Hey Jon,

Looking good Bud! What did you use for wire from the battery to the fuse box?

Jon your getting so close to splash.
Wish I was half as close as you.
Great work and from what I see you have a show room boat.

Thanks TDF .... Here is the system that I used: http://www.amazon.com/Pyle-PLMRKT2A...LDUO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1335152745&sr=8-1

Hey jb .... Those are a little tall for mine also. I picked up a set of back to backs that I am going to use.

Thanks Decker .... I am getting close ... finally ...... sure took a long time to get here. Thank goodness for camera angles 'cause she is far from being showroom .... lol.

Thanks GT ..... your right, that is going to be a sweet sound when I fire it up on splash day. ( the sound of the motor ... not me yelling YEEEEHAA!!! )

sp .... I didn't want a radio mounted in the dash so I chose this system 'cause you can just plug in the mp3 player if you want music or leave it out and you wouldn't even know the system was there.

Jon,
Thanks for the link. I am curious tho. Did you just run two heavy cables up from the Stern to the fuse box? If so, what gauge did you use? Thinking about doing the same thing for my boat.

Duh! I see it now....6 gauge right? did you use red/black or white/black for pos/neg?

Hey Ed .... I did use 6 ga cable. What I did was order a 25ft roll of black cable ( cheaper then ordering black and red separately ) and ran it thru the PVC pipe that I installed under the sole going from bow to stern. I used red electrical tape to wrap the cable on the hot side of the batt so there was no mistaking it for a ground..

In this fuzzy photo you can see how I ran it thru the PVC pipe.

Here are the connections at the fuse panel:

Well, the cabinet under the bow is installed and and I put in the carpet to see how it looks. I am still torn between using velcro or just glue it down.

I also installed the cleets on the bow.

I painted the rub rail black and installed it and now I think it might need to be a different color.

I think it is that the splash rail is blue and the rub rail is black .... Hmmm .... not sure about that yet.

Just the wanna be artist in me, but I think the rub rail would look good in the light blue/teal, with a white rope insert...

But then again what do I know...

Looking closer everyday, Jon...Great work!

Try the Velcro, it's under 10bucks. If you don't like it, remove and glue it down. I had the same quandry as you with the rubrail. When I found out how much NEW white rubrail insert cost, It made it REAL easy to decide to keep the Black.;)

I thought about the white but I am worried that it would not stay white very long.

Hey sp there is no radio. You just plug in an ipod and play it thru the amp and speakers. That is why I chose this system 'cause when the ipod is not plugged in you wouldn't even know there was a system in the boat.

Hey Woody .... I have the velcro but I don't have one of those fancy Martha Stewart sewing machines (like all of you guys have) to attach the velcro to the carpet so I would have to do it by hand and that would be a mess ... lol.

I don't have any vinyl insert for my rub rail so I have to order it anyway .... just can't decide what color to get.

I have similar carpet. In my opinion, it isn't the type to try to make removable. It's just get all wrinkly and nasty. Glue it. The Roberts 5700 adhesive from Home Depot works awesome and is cheap.
