Re: New Look

Everyone should hold on till the change is announced as "completed" before passing any kind of judgment.

I vote for bigger text!

I'm having a much harder time reading this tiny font.

I don't want to put on glasses to read my favourite forums!

Is this mentioned at the top of this thread, or did I see it somewhere else?
Press and hold Ctrl and rotate your mouse scroll wheel changes the font size. Brilliant when you know how!

A non-whining, constructive suggestion?
You must be new here....;)

Seriously, great tip, thanks!!

Re: New Look

Hey! I didn't know my mouse could do that! New trick..

I was commenting only on the LOOK of the forum. And the smilies are terrible. Maybe when 'they' are done it will be better.

Noticing the maintenance message at the top of the page, Delray has 30-something posts in two years...... the one(s) doing the changes don't appear to actually use the forum. Just an observation.

Perhaps it is as mentioned and the changes are nessasary due to lack of support. We shall adapt. But true to Americans, we're gonna *itch first

Re: New Look

Looks like they updated it to me.

Iboats was one of the most outdated looking forums before today.

I'm quite happy. With time I know it will be better.

Re: New Look

ROFL Man is this entertaining.

If you folks were even a slight bit observant, you'd notice
1. No advertisements
2. Bland colors
3. Features not working, or suddenly working when they didn't before.
4. You had to log in again. (remember me went away)
5. It's basically the new year's weekend.

It appears that the site crashed, and was brought up quickly in default mode so you had some place to register your whining complaints, while the site owners are trying to find out who did what to their site code. I would bet that they would like to return to making money as quickly as possible, and don't have time to try to explain it to you.

again, ROFL

It is not my site.
I enjoy visiting.
If costs me nothing.
So I am perfectly happy with their decisions for what ever reasons they make them.
I am sure there are more changes to come, and I will be happy with whatever they do.

Cheers
Phillip

Hmmm ... i'm running Win7 with IE8 and that toggles between the desktop and open explorer windows. Perhaps that doesn't work with all browsers.

Edit: Oops ....I was pushing down on the mouse wheel
(I never was good at following procedures - probably why they wouldn't let me sit at the weapons launch counsel)

Re: New Look

Aaaagh! That feels better. Some of the color is back.

A couple of quick things I noticed:
1. Clicking on post a reply at the top of the page will not take you to a reply box. You can get there if you scroll to the bottom of the page.

2. Pet peeve - When trying to select a page number or go to the last post my fingers are larger than the buttons. We need to become more touchscreen friendly. I haven't been on a desktop in weeks.

Re: New Look

It's different, but that's OK. I good with it.

To help identify interesting topics easier, I suggest putting the title of the thread in slighter larger font or in bold. When a sceen full of threads is up it would be easier to peruse the list if the title was a little more distinct fom the rest of the text.

Just a suggestion.

That's a pretty silly observation. You expect them to only hire IT staff who are boaters?

I can tell there are some nifty features that we'll all take some time figuring out. They need some serious work on the styles and templates and I can tell they were not prepared with a designer/developer when this upgrade was made. I'm sure (hopefully) it will be straightened out.

Actually that is a pretty easy thing to do in your browser, normally in all browsers, it is an option under the view tab at the top of the page, in firefox, just click>view>zoom>zoom in or zoom out..

Re: New Look

Wow, lotsa sand in panties around here. Why don't you all stop whining for 1 friggin day and see how it works out. Man, it's like the kindergarten of the internet on this site sometimes.
I've been online since 1995 and have seen a LOT of changes on many forums. People whine and bellyache like little teenaged girls, then in a couple days they all shut up because they get used to it.

Re: New Look

It's the same as it was yesterday with different icons. I liked the look of the old better but the function will be the same when they get it all together. If somebody has the knowledge & wants to do this I won't complain about how a free, massively helpful site looks. Those IT people have to do something to earn their keep.

Re: New Look

Now when someone posts a large picture only the picture side scrolls, not the whole thread!!

You mods are going to have a lot more time on your hands now!!
I found the banned members list...

Re: New Look

If you guys would pay attention, there was an announcement at the top of each forum yesterday stating the forums would be down till early morning for maintenance. There is a new one now, stating that it's not done yet and they are still working on it.
Things are getting fixed, it's just taking longer than expected.
So, just quit throwing tantrams and let them get finished.

Fun day for the Mods, I'm sure. Nothing like a v-bulletin upgrade to bring out the Abe "Grandpa" Simpson in all of us.

Re: New Look

I like the new format. I'll have to adjust my navigation habits here, but that's great. It's great, because I'm adjusting here to the same navigation I have on the other dozen boards that I'm on.
