I don't know if it was always there and I just never noticed but I really like the View First Unread icon at the top of the page.

Re: Iboats format change!

Post history is improving continually. First hour or so it only showed posts I had made since the changeover, then it started to add from 2007 to older, then it was Sept 2009, and now May 2010, so the gaps are filling in . . .

Re: New Look

Maybe this is a ploy to weed out the whiners and crybabies!?

If so, great job!

All is well lads, just say "STEVE" three times and it will be fixed to your liking. :D

Anyone here remember way back when some of us were demoted and some of us were flushed into cyberspace? ....Perhaps not.

Re: New Look

Think of the "current" format of the forum like this....

You go and get a Happy Meal...the same HM you been getting for years.

Now..for some reason somebody changed the Free Toy inside.." Where is my cool Mick Jagger fake wax lips !!" the kids exclaim.. because its now a plastic reproduction bobble head of Blondie...

But..you still have the rest of the happy meal dont you ?

Now .. you go to get another happy meal..but This time its the Bag that its in has been changed !! " This Is NOT My happy meal !! " the kids ( this time with tears and red faces from holding there breath ) scream !

So Dad says " little ones..I thought you wanted the happy meal because it tasted good..with your choice of drink and fries... not the toy..and not the bag ?! "

Remembering that the Happy Meal with the Toy inside..and all that packaging ( with cool new connect the dots and mazes and a crayon ) IS FREE !! ( and its also good wholesome food..not lip burgers or greasey tube steaks ).

IMO..the Iboats Forum is a place for people to Learn,Help,Teach,Ego trip ..or sometimes even plagiarize.

So..in final..I would rather have the Meal Itself than the Happy toy or the package it came in..wouldnt you ?

Peace out 2011.

YD.

PS. there was something about "pearls before swine" that comes to mind ;) .

Re: New Look

A lot of the comments above were made when the changeover was still in progress, and all of them are made prior to tweaks and adjustments yet to come.

Constructive suggestions and requests (not including reverse the clock, it is not an option) can really help Delray with finishing touches.

Please keep rule 10 in mind and focus on the software, not management decisions.

Thanks for useful input. :)

Re: New Look

New look is much busier and cluttered compared to old look. It's much harder to scan quickly for interesting threads. I tend to read forums for information, I'm not much into the cutesy format stuff. I've found that I spend MUCH less time on here with the new format, hopefully it works out to the best for everyone!

Are you guys sure this isn't http://www.marineengine.com/boat-forum/forum.php ,did Delray just copy there look?? or I'm I there? or here? this could be really confusing

That site looks very much like the old I-boats, Blue bar at top of posts, and user avatar on left user stats (join date, # posts, location) on right. I think if those same changes were made here it would really bring back the old iboats feel with all of the new featues. (Delray you getting this :D)

I'm with you JB. I would pm my suggestion to delray but I have a feeling he is getting more than a few pm's already.

Delray you getting this
In the interest of accuracy, Delray canNOT affect the graphics issues. That's another fella. Delray and us are moving the comments along to the appropriate people. Delray has been handling basic programming and button issues, like the registration problem and restoring search and history etc. That's moving along nicely. My posts are up to Nov 22, 2010 and getting closer every time I check . . .

Re: New Look

Don't know what happened with that ^^^^^ . Found a workaround though. Click the Alphabetical heading, like "A - C" or "D - L". Then click the manufacturer you want. Works that way . . .

I had over 7000 posts on an offroad site that changed its format... I walked away and didn't lose a second sleep. Now this offroad site has changed back since all the OG's left... and I still haven't came back. With that said, there are lots of boating sites on the web, don't let a post count keep you from exploring.
