So, you're 30 years old and still think that pouring beer down someone's gullet with a funnel and hose is a good way to enjoy life. You also still seem to think its a responsible thing to do so in a marine environment.

OK, carry on. When you do get to know "uncle leo" a little better, which if you keep that sort of thing up, you probably will, you can tell us about how mean they were to you.

I'm done, but I do have a thought to leave you with. My friend's daughter, who was in her twenties too, had never died before. That didn't stop her from trowning in five feet of water, in a canal and about two feet from a dock and 15 feet from the bank. She too, thought that her parents were being "bores" when they told her not to swim.

.

Again you make assumptions about me that just aren't true. I didn't at anytime poor anything into a funnel. I was driving that day so I had my normal 3 drinks at or around noon and the sun was setting as we went in (8pm) The girls and their boyfriends did all the funnel drinking. I SAY THAT'S OK if that's what they want to do!

I am a non-drinker, so I do not have any comments on whether 3 Mikes is too much. I suspect that it depends on the drinker. Legally, if you got pulled over by the LEO, you might be borderline. Here in Michigan, you would have points applied against your drivers license. (Wonder what they do if you don't have a vehicle drivers license, since it is not required to drive a boat?)

However, I would caution anyone of one item. If you allow anyone on your property to get totally wasted (funnel drinking), you might find yourself legally responsible for the outcome. Probably not fair, but juries in civil trials are often unfair.

Also, in the case of rented property, you can definatly be held responsible. Recently I was in a campground at a nearby boating site, and one (or at most two) of the neighbors (or maybe neigh-boors) got wasted and could not control his mouth at 1:00 AM (quiet hours started at 11:00. Management evicted all the parties at that campsite. They had to pack up and throw all thier stuff in the back of a truck at 2:00. This was the first night, and they lost the rest of the vacation as a result. The person who rented the site was mostly sane and sober, but she will not be allowed to rent at that site again. The drunk tried to trash a few things on the way out, and had he suceeded, she would have been the one to pay.

Sorry, this is off-topic (at least off the posted topic), but the thread appears to be headed this way anyway.

Do you know what a mikes hard lemonade is? 3 of them is probably the same thing as 1 beer.

Either way

I drink 2 or 3, THEN go swimming, then hiking, drinking water the whole time and 4 to 5 hours later I leave.

Sorry if you can't handle that, but I assure you I would pass whatever test you want to throw at me.

Also - what childish post? You mean the one with girls in bikini's on my boat? Man you've got to learn to relax buddy.

You obviously don't BWAHAHAHAHAHA

Keep posting my man, I get a good laugh from reading your posts and the hilarity that follows.

In many cases especially involving non boaters & being female the "30min slow zone" might have been her favorite part.

The last time I posted pictures of the chicks I hang out with the post got reported and then deleted.

They all had their bikini's on (for the pictures anyway) and none of them were doing anything illegal.

Long story short, won't be posting any more pics because if a girl has on a short sleeve shirt around here I might end up banned.

LOL bummer.. pm me ill give you my e-mail address LOL
yeah I posted a picture of my wife. it got pulled too. same thing no nips or nothing just very sexy. But hey their forum their rules. I will abide by them.

Drinking while boating is stupid. I shoot heroin instead, talk about peaceful. And before anyone says anything, I keep cocaine with me at all times in case of emergency, it brings me right back to an alert state.

i read the original post and every response. the only thought i have is that i feel bad for the girl that she spent all week looking forward to going out on the boat, she drove out to the dock (alone?), the boat came to the dock, then she watched as the boat turned around and headed back out on the water without her.

fortunately her day probably picked up at beer fest

She lives across the street lol. (well 2 or 3 blocks across)

You guys are really making it a bigger deal then it was.

I would do it the exact same way again if I had the choice.

If she came, I would have had to head in shortly after the other people showed up - I had a good time seeing those friends again and talking with them.

After all it is MY gas and my boat right?

ps. she sent me a text at 3am - so I assume she did have a good time at beerfest! But don't tell anyone here that people were drinking beer, it might get you flamed

Re: Non-boaters, do we blame them??? Just left a girl at the dock!

OK, back on topic (sort of)...

My first boating date with my wife of 19 years, I was the late one by at least 30 minutes. Memorial day at a nearby lake. I got caught up in parade traffic. She waited for me. Frankly she was not interested in me (previously, she had described me to her parents as "a wierd skinny guy who is following me around" and had given me the "let's just be friends" talk.) The boat never even made it in the water that day (crowds and weather). A close friend talked her into a double date with her (the friend), the friend's boyfriend, and my wife (to be) and I. On a Saturday, I took all 4 of us out on my Hobie 16. The short story is, I got a phone call on Monday, saying "Can we talk?" The talk was her retracting the "just friends" and saying "lets start dating".

My advice, cut the female friend some slack. It might pay-off.

Ah yes the ol' facemelting X what a trip!
This is about boat topics and questions (not engine topics)
Abandoned chick left on dock, boat dissappears into the sunset, guy drinks lemonade, I like X.
I know there's a boat question in here somewhere.

Ayuh,... When I saw this thread yesterday, My 1st thought was it's an old thread, brought back to the top, as it sounds Sooo familiar...
Of course the dates are All wrong for that...
I guess I was thinkin' of This thread... Pretty much a carbon copy...

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. If all your boating dates end up this way, you might want to ask why. Are you looking for dates with the wrong kind of women? When I was single, I could not get a real date for anything, but I never had a problem with women wanting to cut the boat ride short. (OK once, but that was due to her mother having planned a family picnic and not letting me know.)

If I get this straight, you did tell her in advance that you stay out at least 5 hours. In ADVANCE . . .right? IF that is the case, then it sounds to me like she had a better offer from someone else and was just looking for you to nix the trip. She played you.

Wow,
I cant believe I read all of this. Since it is already three pages of worthless opinions I will throw mine in too.
Your boat, your day , you get too make the rules. That being said I am lucky enough to spend alotta time on the water either wake boarding, fishing, diving or ? . I always try to accommodate guests and I personally get nearly as much joy providing a day on the water for friends as any other activity. I am old married guy so been a while since I had a water date (besides wife) and IMO you coulda cut her some more slack. The women have the "power" you know.
I am disappointed in the morality police, I also enjoy an occasional adult beverage (even while boating....gasp!!). If I act responsibility have zero tolerance in the opinion of others, if you don't like it then oh well, write your congressman , your priest, your mother or whomever you want and and try to get alcohol banned, in the meantime KMA.
