I removed 11+ bags of wet and dry foam from under the floor and weighed all the bags and came up to 526lbs. I kept the bags in the area where they were removed to see how the weight was distributed and 3/4 of the weight I removed was from the center of the boat back and the drivers side was 60 lbs heaver then the pass side (sorry do not remember boat terms for sides lol). Anybody think this will make it run and handle any better??

I didnt bother to weigh the foam i removed from my project but i guessed
there was 200 lbs or water in there.
have to wonder there must be a better way of putting flotation under the floors!
seems its not if but when it will get soaked.

The foam was obviously water soaked and that's not good. Look for blistering from the bottom and inside the hull. Fix any of that before you do anything else.
NOT to put foam back in is NOT a good idea. Closed cell foam can be reinstalled in sheets. It has a lessor chance of absorption but be sure to ask around what is best. The two part pour in stuff is commonly used but you have to have the floor down/screwed tight etc. before you pour it in and you can pop that deck off if not careful.

Looks like you'll need 30 cases of beer onboard if you want to keep the waterline the same.

CG recommends putting foam under the gunnels if possible, makes more sense, at least it won't flip over.

Steering Wheel Adaptor Question!

Steering Wheel Adaptor Question!

I have purchased a aftermarket wheel for the restore project on my boat however the factory wheel is just bolted to the the shaft that is keyed.

I need to know is there a adaptor that I have to buy for the aftermarket to work? If so does Iboats sell it?

Here is the wheel that I want to install.

Here is the factory wheel!

Any help would be appreciated

We cut out some new dash panel pieces and then replaced all the switches and added a few extras. We then covered it in yellow vinyl to match the boat and then lettered all the switches in gray to match the other color of the boat.

Here is what the original dash looked like.

Here are the new panels to replace the ones to the right and left of the steering wheel.

While I was cutting out vinyl I cut some numbers for the fuse block. This way I can make a wiring diagram and know what fuses go with the diagram.

We are working on the panel that holds the gauges now.

Beautiful job! After seeing that, I may not attempt to build a dash, but just redo the inserts, because that looks downright eye-candyish. I love the battery meter, too. Great idea. I'll have to pick one of those up.

I should get the gauge panel completed in the next couple days. I will get a pic on here of it all back together. As for the switches and LED lights, I shopped around and bought from a lot of different places do to the prices being all over the place. I will pull the receipt and send you a PM with the information. I had a LOT less money in doing it this way than buying one of the complete bolt in panels. and I think it looks more factory this way.

They look great! What did you use to label your switches?

We use to own a sign show however when we sold the business we bought another cutter to use on the race cars and personal stuff so I just ordered a roll of gray vinyl and cut them out along with the BAJA logo in the corner.
