Re: The R?surrection of the SeaGem
Thanks HA, Thanks Sprint,
Well whoever said "A bad day of fishing is still better than a good day at work" has never met me
Yesterday we had 5 1/2' waves in the LI Sound. When I got to the ramp this morning I found all the channel buoys had been ripped out and were lying in the parking lot

Now that I know the channel I figured the heck with it. I dunk the boat park my truck hop in the boat and start motoring

.
The channel was not that bad, as I get near open water I see boats flying into the channel

S@ew it I'm going out anyway............. Well, I hit open waters and start bronco busting. When I checked the report this morning they were 1.6 every 4 seconds, just checked and by the time I hooked the truck, got my gear, got to the water, dunked her etc and the open waters the seas were 2.95' every 4 sec. and an 18mph head wind.
As a result I didn't do too much testing, I got up to 4500 for a little but I was too busy stearing to look at how fast I will check the gps later but it wasn't a good day for trying out for speed LOL. The water was just getting worse so I turned and came back in.
Tho finish off the day, after I pulled her back on land and was securing he and washing her down, my winch cable broke

right at the hook. Its a good thing I had a come-along in the truck to us to get me home.
EDIT- PS by the time I got back in the waves were 3.6' 4 seconds apart

I have to say though, she handled quite well. the only scary part is when I stopped for a bit the waves were crashing over the transom, Gunwales etc... and landing on the deck
