Re: The R?surrection of the SeaGem
Hey Damifudo,
Were still waiting on those pics LOL
Well I was kinda lazy with the Gem this weekend
Yesterday I pressure washed the deck on our house so while Wifey was happy with that I disappeared and installed my trim tabs etc on the Transom
While I was installing everything, I found another problem
My exhaust bellow had disconnected

I am really wondering if this has been the cause of my prop ventilation problem
after doing some research last night and even posted to my little prop question thread to no avail. The answers come up as a mixed bag, the definition for prop ventilation is
"Ventilation occurs when surface air or
exhaust gases are drawn into the propeller blades. The load on the propeller is reduced by the mixing of air or exhaust into the water steam causing over revving."
BUT then I read how some don't even run a bellow without trouble
Well to simplify my life I installed an exhaust tube instead of re-installing the bellow
Logic tells me that if the exhaust gases were dumping before the prop It could be causing the ventilation problem
thoughts or opinions ??????
EDIT- Looking at the pic I see I forgot to mention I replaced the bilge blower. The old blower crapped out on me last fishing trip
And with the stuff I left off I just 4200 the screws and put them back in just in case I want to mount something in the future ( in other words, I was being lazy lol)
