Re: Was Jesus a real person?

JB, since you asked, I will post again. Are you forgetting that for the last 15 years I have been doing a good bit of work in a country that about 35% of the country is muslim and another 15% practice "cultural" religions? So, yes, I have been told that on countless occasions. In fact, if you look closely at several of YOUR posts over the years, you have implied that Christians they were lost, wrong, rude, pushy, ignorant, etc. Does it bother me? Sometimes.

However, I also remember that all are human and we are all entitled to our own opinion. I enjoy hearing others opinion, but I also expect MY opinion to be heard. I will discuss a relationship with Christ as long as someone wants to discuss, but the minute I feel I am turning someone off, I will attempt to drop or change the subject. I also enjoy learning what others believe, so I can weigh it against what I believe and what I know. I have even changed my belief a time or two - not my core beliefs, but certian aspects of the supporting beliefs.

And yes, you are correct, the thread was answered very early on, that Jesus was a real person, but the natural continuation of that thought for any believer of Christ is, "okay, if he was real, was he the son of God?" To that question I will return to an earlier post and say, he was either the Son of God, or a crazed heretic who had delusions of grandure. I believe He was the Son of God. And I will stop there.

JB, I certainly do not intend to disrespect you. I think you are a class man, one with high intelligence, and one who has served our Country proudly. Nothing that I have said in this post was to imply or show disrespect to you or your belief system. It was only to point out what I believe. I am sorry if that did not come out clear enough. Although I am not sorry for anything I have said, I am sorry that I was not able to say it in a manor that was not offensive to you. Please accept my apologies.
