    Usually, clear coat will flake off the topcoat if not painted correctly or not compatible (see old cars - its called sunburn on them).

    Temp sounds a little low... That is generally the low end of acceptable paint temp ranges for most paints but check the specs.. As I mentioned, I haven't used the Merc paint but it should be similar to other paints. Do you have the Merc procedure for painting a drive with their paint?

    Well, went to put the 2 ton load leveler on the engine and found that it is too long. That helps prevent angular stress but it won't allow the chains to clear the cooling system plumbing. Back to the 1500lb load leveler. I will have to pick up longer chains for it.

    Fuel pump to fuel filter is stainless steel. Fuel pump to carb is rubber marine fuel line with crimped steel ends. Thanks for the bracket pictures. I haven't found any like those to buy. They would work on the back but they wouldn't work on the front without some disassembly.
