    Seadoo GTX 4 tec

Thanks Scott, had the first one and added the rest to my favorites. QBhoy: Not hydro locked. I got it with the plugs out and won't turn over. The starter kicks in but does nothing but groan. The solenoid went bad as I tried to start it, got hot and melted a post. Is there a way to access the...

    Seadoo GTX 4 tec

Is there a Seadoo repair forum other than this, or just ask here? 2004 seadoo gtx 4 stroke supercharged bombardier(heck of a name) Have a pair of them, they sat for 4-5 years and one doesn't want to turn over. New batteries, one just clicks and the starter engages but only groans and when the...

Is this normal wear on a distributor belt?

Had a flywheel on an 88/85 that wouldn't come off. The rest were easy, peasy.

So i decided to pull the powerhead off....

The older pistons need a special tool to reassemble them. Post pics of the pistons,

So i decided to pull the powerhead off....

Like racerone said use "bearing assembly grease" on the loose bearings and make REAL sure they stay in place. One falls out and the rebuild is done. Can do serious damage to a cylinder if it falls into it. Has the motor been rebuilt before? check the pistons for marks on top of the piston...

Will this prop bearing carrier break apart if removed?

No, the only thing spinning is the prop shaft. Thus the wear on the seal. The driveshaft only turns when the motor's running.

Will this prop bearing carrier break apart if removed?

Nowhere is it written down that it needs to be in gear, but it's just a good practice that will save a seal from excessive wear. Short trips ? long trips that I did when I trailered over 120 mi. to get to the ocean. I've been doing that since 1988 when I realized the props were spinning on my...

Will this prop bearing carrier break apart if removed?

1988 twin 85 Forces. They had an allen head set screw for a drain plug. No matter what I did they both would weep at the set screw. Every 3-4 times when I'd use the boat, I'd change the oil and try different thread sealers. Did this for years. Nothing ever worked, leaked until I sold them. The...

Will this prop bearing carrier break apart if removed?

IF?? there's no hope for a fix then use it and keep the oil fresh. Also when trailering, keep the motor in gear so the prop won't turn as you go down the road. The spinning prop out of the water can shorten the life of the seal. Make sure the shift rod seal seat is spotlessly clean when changing.

125 Force Outboard won’t achieve full power

Frequent coughs and backfires? I've found the port cover gaskets are the usual culprit for frequent coughs, backfires and sneezing. Do what Racer suggested then the starting fluid test before more damage is done. I bought a 21 with twin 88/85 hp. Forces. Neither one ran and I decided to do some...

Will this prop bearing carrier break apart if removed?

IF??? it's not leakin??? don't mess with it. Like Scott said, lots of heat, penetrating oil and a hammer and prayers. I looked and couldn't find a replacement part either, maybe try Franz Marine??

Hi all so back kind of after a rebuild as found broken rings not causing any problems but once seen

It shouldn't hurt anything if you swap the packs. The damaged pack will show the 1/2 cyl. missing. Done it a hundred times with no damage.

    Motor stalls in neutral

Your motor has the primer and it has a diaphragm too. Pinch off the hose to the primer or float bowl and see if the ball get firm?? Neutral safety: for some reason I was thinking of an older model :( The adjustments are still made on the motor not in the shifter. Unhook the shift cable, then...

After switching packs and the miss goes to the other 2 plugs??? I'd say the pack needs replacing. Swap all the wires and then check the results.
