    If you have the newer blackish/green gasket with a semi shiny surface do not sealer. The are silicon impregnated and will seal after a couple of heat cycles

    Seems you know all the answers but reeds will not cause rich running. If reed was bad it would blow crankcase compression out the carb. Also a cylinder leakdown has nothing to do with anything behind piston ,just piston and rings. Good luck finding your solution.

    As stated reeds aint yer problem....that is normal and in spec for a engine that old. You are allowed up to .007 gap as the crankcase pressure is what seals them. The problems you have posted to not correspond with a reed issue

    You have to prime the oil system as it has a return line to tank. need someone who knows these engines to complete rigging or boating time will be short from failed engine.

    The 9" will be fine ..just zip tie em up so doesnt catch cowl hardware...

    The V-6 housing was used but not the V-6 gear ratio.
