    1993 Evinrude 15hp

How long is it sitting for? If you are fishing for anything over 20 minutes that is a cold motor and will require choke to start it. And if all you are doing is idling the motor never truly warms up.

    Evinrude Intruder.

My question is this. What is the difference between the GL model vs the EL 115 looper. In my service manual it says that the GLs range is 5000-6000 rpm and the EL is 4500-5500. It also says the GL makes its power at 5500 and the EL makes its power at 5000. The GL is the Intruder Version and the...

25hp Merc only starts w/starter fluid

DON'T PUT WIRE IN THE HOLE. On the base of the carb where it bolts to the motor is the exit hole for the primer. Use compressed air to blow through that. I brought visual aids. In pic #2 bottom of the primer you take the bolt, spring and ball out you will see a wee hole. That is the primer outlet...

    1994 20hp cold starting issue

It likes to break at the linkages on the carb. They are only plastic so it happens the rod may be floating around in the motor somewhere. Here are some pics of mine should be similar. Not having the rod in place is probably causing the hard starting. Sorry the pictures aren't the greatest.

Here is the solas I run on my 1977 15 hp and is going to go to my 89 15 hp. On my 1977 model the performance was identical to the factory prop. I am very happy with it. It is also a strong prop as my boat was totaled last week and both motors lower units were stuck in the ground like lawn darts...

1977 Evinrude 15 HP - Electric Starter Conversion?

A parts motor is best. The starter bracket is the exhaust cover which you will need to find. You will also need to find the flywheel which is different and the neutral safety switch and starter button. Here are pics of my 77 model. If you want to charge the battery the whole stator assembly...
