    Delta Dawn- ‘72 Chieftain

Could be welded, but patch will give more support to that weak area. Look it over carefully as you will probably find more areas like that.

    Alignment Tool

I looked up the dimensuons for my alignment tool right here on Iboats, then found a guy on Ebay that makes them. When I recieved it, firstbthing I did was check dimensions...there were right on the money ( I am a toolmaker so precision measurements areceasy to check). It only cost me 25 bucks...

    97 Force 120 idle/starting issue

Time to get a " factory" service manual for your specific engine. Most ofvthe xarbs I have rebuilt have a number on the carb, that along with engine serial number should get you the right kit. There will be a sync adjustment when you put them back on, this is where your service manual will...

    Clanking/rattling sound after prop change

Must be gettin really old as this does not make much sense to this old brain...When you add an extra blade with the same pitch, you should be moving more water which puts more strain on an engine. Just for curiosity, I have been looking at getting a spare prop for my boat. Thinking a change in...

What size motor do I need?

That 80 hp will probably push you around 20-24 mph, so if that is fast enough then good. Probably have a tough time pulling up a skier though. A 120 or there abouts would be a better choice for water sports and would get you closer to 30 mph or a little over depending on load in the boat...

    New Purchase - 1977 14’ Stuery Walk-around

Make sure your transom is strong, these old tri hulls used lots of plywood in their substructure, which can rot and cause a weak hull. Look for flexing in the transom while bouncing the motor up and down. If any leaks, look closely to find where they are comming from as this could be a sign of...

When I replaced mine, I had to match it as close as I could, a few minor mods were needed, but that is all.

Trailer Rust, cross members and welds.

Plugging holes with JB weld will keep water from draining out and speed up the rust problem...I would rethink that step..

88 bayliner ciera 2556 command bridge.

Before investing any money in it, do a thorough survey on the hull, stringers, transom etc, dont assume they are good!!! Be sure, if all is good then enjoy !!

What age of i/o style boat should I not consider buying?

I would highly recomend an aluminum hull, only wood to wirry about is transom and floor and both a easy to repair. I have owned numerous alum hulls over my 60 years of boating. My 3.0 was very smooth, no vibration right down to 600 rpm. Easy on fuel and would hit almost 40 mph. Most aluminum...
