    The height of the hole is not an issue, its where the ventilation plate is on the drive when installed. Don't know if you can but I try to find a jig to use/borrow to cut the hole

    Like all motors, its only good if it has been taken care of. The 3L is a GM industrial motor and can last for many years. Same goes for most all motors

    Motor is designed for 87, and using anything other then 87 is only masking a problem. Wonder if your reading the timing mark correctly

    Putting a high pressure oil pump in a motor not designed for it just causes more oil to be dumped back to the oil pan. Will increase the heat some due to the higher pressure. High pressure will not harm bearings, its the high heat that can cause the oil to fail "IF" it gets to hot, and again...

    Don't see an issue with the oil pressure even if it reads higher. I'm higher then that by design but that's another issue

    When it shuts down after coming off plane it has water in the cylinders and "they don't think that's the problem and its electrical"? I'm scratching my head real hard right now

    Can get a fuel pressure gauge for under $50 and attach to the fuel rail. Don't know where your located but may be able to borrow one from a auto parts store

    On a gas no, think of it as a safety switch that requires 2 switches depressed to send power to start relay. My thought is its same panel to use on both, and with gas its a safety switch, and diesel its preheat I have a wiring diagram (I think) which can look up, but first time I heard about...

    Should have power to 30 and 86, and and 87 will go to the fuel pump. When ground is applied to 85 the relay energizes I don't know which pin on your OSX because I don't have a wiring diagram. Look at the color of the wire on pin 85 and try to find it on the ECM

    Believe it's gas and a Westerbeke (op can correct). While diesel can require a preheat when cold, Westerbeke uses the preheat even on gas models. The preheat doesn't do anything other then is a secondary switch that must be pressed to pass voltage to the start relay. Kind of a added safety thing
