    Re: Shift rod seal Attached is a pic of the tool. Not sure on your motor whether you punch it out from the top or bottom - it varies by motor. You can pull it by threading a bolt in, but it ruins the bushing. The punch doesn't ruin it.

    Where is the water pump/impeller on the 3hp folding outboards? Is it similar to the non-folding models? I'm just wondering, if it folds it must be above the hinge, as the water tube can't fold. Thinking of buying one I saw on Craigs List.

    Selectric Shift - Long Shaft to Short Shaft

    Just wondering if I can switch my long shaft 1964 Lark with Selectric Shift by just switching out the driveshaft, shortening the water tubes and removing the extension like on a mechanical shift motor?

    1964 Evinrude Lark - Done!

    Well, I finally got this motor done. Replaced the fuel pump and that fixed the lousy running/lean sneeze. Now she runs like a dream. Now that I got her running, I tested the Selectric Shift. It shifts fine! Got her all painted and she's ready to go. Another old classic rescued from the trash!
