Sometimes the mfgr info is in small print molded into the plastic tank, that can be hard to see. If your tanks are metal, that info us usually painted on it or on a decal...yes, pics may help....

Then the bunks should be adjusted to share that load, not lots if weight on that front roller. Usually each end of the bunk board can be adjusted up and down to spread the load over the whole bunk board.

    Bearing buddy issues

When the bearing buddy falls off the hub, it is open, nothing to hold the grease inside. What was left of the hub had no sign of grease as it all came out at 65 mph. My hubs are and always have been inspected regularly. There was a small crack on the lip of the hub, whether it caused the...

    Bearing buddy issues

Only one issue with bearing buddies, that was about 12-14 years back. Lost the whole Bearing Buddy, t came out on the way home from July 4 fireworks. Threw all the grease out going down the E way at 65 mph. Hub overheated and disinigrated. Noticed the wheel wobble as I backed into my barn...

Some folks just refuse to read instructions or think it will never happen to them. Years back a guy I knew, wanted to test run a small outboard, so he squirted some dish detergent into the water pickup as soon as the motor started....he stated that would lube the pump so it did not get harmed...

So you have portable fuel tanks...? Often there are replacement gaskets available that fit under that part of the tank as long as it is a oem or other popular brand tank. Often the quick connects from overseas companies do not seal well, use oem when you can

Rant: Can't catch a break with weekend weather...

Most of the high gas prices is just greed. Oil is priced based on the global market. Oil is much cheaper in the US than globaly, but the processers want the big bucks everyone else is getting. While I hate these current prices, compare that to the fancy coffees people buy each morning on...

    Bearing buddy issues

There was a company that made a plastic cap with a zerk fitting some years back. Was not impressed with them nor was others that tried them. Not sure if they are still out there. However, for fresh water use, I highly recommend the Bearing Buddies, but do follow the instructions to get the...

    Bearing buddy issues

Many don't follow the instructions for using them, thus they have issues and give them a bad name. BB's should extend the time between hand packing and inspection not eliminate it. Been using these for decades, following the instructions, and have had only one issue with a bearing buddy. I...

    PSA for inboard gas owners.....

Exactly....this is the reason I do the smell testing often ! My boat is trailered and spends most of its time in my barn. Having no wind is nside, it should be easy to sniff any fumes. Before every trip, I climb in the boat, make sure everything is stowed, make everything is in its place...

How to run twin 5.0s from portable outboard tanks

My neighbor decided the 45 mph zone was to fast for his neighborhood, he complained but the township did nothing. He stole some 25 mph signs from another county and replaced the 45 mph signs. The law started looking into this and found another neighbors ring camera showed him mounting the...

    Bearing buddy issues

My rubber caps used to come off on ocassion, so I started making a teeny tiny hole with a paper clip right in the middle. When I install them I push on the center to create a little suction on the rubber cap, enough so the center will suck in slightly. I often wondered if heat buildup caused...

Our fishing season goes until end of November, no risk of ice that I know of. No geese for me, not a wild fowel person. Guess it looks like I am a fair weather boater ! In my younger days, I was always the first boat on the Portage river, often in early March dogging chunks of ice. Today...

    PSA for inboard gas owners.....

Not only inboards, many outboards have built-in fuel tanks, so do not overlook the possibility of a leak there. With many enclosed below the floor or under a gunwale, trapped vapors can still be a major issue !
