Maybe my turn for new boat time

I will say . . . I'm fairly impressed with the simplicity of the Honda & Dometic tech stuff. There is only a fraction of the electronics and wiring behind the helm and elsewhere as compared to the all the Mercruiser stuff I had. . . . and the functionality is the same.

[SPLASHED] I/O (Sterndrive) Conversion to Outboards

Just ordered my oil change stuff. 11 quarts of oil for each engine o_O + 2 quarts of gear oil. @alldodge . . . my steering goes 4 turns lock-2-lock (30˚ pivot each way)

[SPLASHED] I/O (Sterndrive) Conversion to Outboards

No . . . that is the zinc paint (darker color) that I sprayed on it before launching . . . most of it has come off.

[SPLASHED] I/O (Sterndrive) Conversion to Outboards

End of the season for me . . . . Trailer all set to go . . . The boat came on the bunks pretty much dead center. (y) . . Backing down my road/driveway was uneventful . . . . . . Lots of rain yesterday, so the boat had to take a pee. . . . Now for off-season maintenance.

Maybe my turn for new boat time

@alldodge . . . When is the date for the 'swap meet'? You will have 2 of the happiest days of boat ownership all on the same day!

Maybe my turn for new boat time

My boat, now with outboards, handles a bit differently than the sterndrives did around the dock, but not significantly better/worse. I have not counted the steering wheel turns, but it does not seem unusual. My steering is all-electric. I don't notice the reverse thrust being a problem. One...

    Big Thanks

Much appreciated for the shout-out. We do get paid the same amount as we earn working on our boats :ROFLMAO:

[SPLASHED] I/O (Sterndrive) Conversion to Outboards

With a short trip today, the engines are @ 19.4 hours . . . so pretty much perfect for the break-in servicing.

[SPLASHED] I/O (Sterndrive) Conversion to Outboards

Fuel Gauge saga . . . When all else fails RTM . . . 🤓 . . It appears that there is a special harness . . . and the fuel sender wiring connects to Resistive input #2 (not #1, which is for Trim). So . . . I re-configured the gauges to take the analog signal from Resistive Input #2. I turned...

Interesting find . . . a 2 yr old demo boat with barely break-in hours.

So, is the dealer taking your boat (Chap 280) and trading it for the Formula 270. . . . Like an even swap?

Maybe my turn for new boat time

This (Formula 270) is in Illinois . . . looks like from the BT Ad. Not too far to go.

Where were you 25 years ago today.

Cars, trains, and buses were the only way folks got home

Nice deal that you could work out a swap. Win-win 😀

Where were you 25 years ago today.

In the days after 9/11 I remember being outside and how eerie quiet it was. Then I realized how accustomed 'we' had become to jets flying at altitude overhead . . . not loud but more of a background noise. Every once in a while you could hear a plane . . . obviously a military plane.

Where were you 25 years ago today.

I was ‘on the bench’ (unemployed) and the Admiral was working. I was outside working on the house. She called and said go turn on the TV . . . 😲

Is it true that Easy Load roller trailers ruin fiberglass boats???

OK, as you look at the boat on the trailer, do you see any deformation marks from the rollers?

Help - Boat Accident and Insurance

It sounds like the OP would like to keep the boat ? I'm wondering what the insurance might do for a settlement in a situation like that? Note for future . . . An 'agreed value' insurance policy may be a better way to go, since value is established at the outset of the policy.
