In my Googling of outdrive oil analysis, the trend is a better indicator than a single snap-shot. Not many owners have the oils sampled very often, if at all, so a trend would be hard to establish. Were the engines also sampled for oil analysis? You may be best to change the oils and do a...

Also, in your annual boat maintenance budgeting, plan on some repairs each year. My Formula 330 was 16 years old (740 hours) when I bought it. I did end up replacing seals after a few years. I also did some clutch maintenance when the drives were about 20 years old.

I would inquire as to when the gear oil was last changed . . . if it has been a while, then the higher readings may be explained by such. Did the surveyor comment on the look of the oil? Was anything abnormal noticed about the drives/shifting during the sea trial? Keep in mind that the drives...

Starting engines with jump box & dead house batteries

Don’t tell anyone, but I had 7 AGM batteries die one winter when the solar charger was covered with snow. I brought them back to life, one at a time, by connecting them to a good battery and a charger. It took about 1 day per battery, but they were fine.

Starting engines with jump box & dead house batteries

Late to the party, but adding my 3 cents . . . :ROFLMAO: The Mechanic's advise has some merit, but the explanation is not 100%. The Jumper battery will try to charge the dead battery and perhaps can bring the dead battery up enough to start the engine. (maybe) Once the engine is started, the...

Favorite pistols? Here’s a few of mine, a few I haven’t shot yet, looking forward to the 44 magnum.

My grandfather showed the gun to me when I was in my late teens, but I hadn't given it any thought until 50 years later, we then found it a box of stuff cleaning out a storage room. @aspeck , when is your next visit to Boston.? Maybe PM me . . .

I have a Colt 1902 Military version, from when my grandfather was in WW1. The Admiral wants me to bring it to a gun dealer, so it is not in the house. Just not sure where it is since we’ve moved so much stuff around 🤔

[SPLASHED] I/O (Sterndrive) Conversion to Outboards

Yes, and I noticed that the oil change interval is 100 hours, probably because of the amount of oil. I've always though 50 hours was typical.
