Aside from any electrical issues as mentioned . . . I am wondering (asking) if the bow roller is the 'self-launching type' and if the windlass is set for 'free fall' feeding.

I don’t understand the question 🤔. They are new engines. No reason to un-crate them ahead of time.

Yes, they know I built the extension bracket.

The back seat is OK . . . Not an issue. There is a side panel that I could have left out, because they removed it to run some wiring.

Work is progressing . . . I stopped by the re-power shop today and things are moving along . . . Transom drilling . . . . Engines are being un-crated . . . . .

Once I get the boat back with engines/rigging, I have a few more items on the punch-list before launching. . Install New Compass Install Depth Transducer Install Side Trim Pieces Install Trim Tabs . Then splash-day will be upon us :D

Now that the boat is over at the re-power shop, I have been finishing up a home project (flooring). . . . . Just as the last nail went into the trim, the Admiral started moving furniture into the room. . In other news, the Merc 7.5 runs and the dinghy will be launched today to...

This situation is playing out as many do . . . expensive lesson, that you will learn from

Disconnect the tachometer and see if the problem goes away. Also remember that you bought a 33 year old boat. There could be all kinds of issues, that the seller & God don't know about.

Early on I recall doing a sell/buy analysis . . . It looked like I'd be spending an additional $100K. EDIT: Basically selling something nobody wants and trying to buy something that lots of people want.

Project Budget Update . . . Here are my latest figures on the project budget. . . The $20K instant savings on the Honda 350's really helped the budget.

Yes, the boat is moved back on the trailer about a foot to lower the tongue weight for trailering. It will be scooted forward once the engines are installed.

I've been asked that by others as well . . . My materials, supplies, and tooling were about $12K. The Navel Architect was $5K . . . My time invested is about 400-450 hours. I would guess a shop would charge $30-40K, as it would basically be an extension and not a stand-alone bracket.

1-2 weeks.

The boat is in the shop . . . . . Lots of road closures due to re-surfacing (of course now that the summer crowds are here). So, it was a bit interesting getting to the shop.

The boat is ready to go . . . over to the re-power shop in the AM. . . In other news, I have more flooring to install, which should keep me busy while the boat is in the shop. .

There are lots of restoration threads that you can/should review to see how it is done. In general, don't worry about the existing holes as you will be replacing the core of the transom from the inside. The outdrive 'keyhole' will be of particular importance as that is your engine alignment...

Getting closer . . . I got the bottom painted with anti-fouling paint. . . The wiring in the bilge is pretty much done . . . ripped out a bunch of wiring that no longer had a home. Still got blowers :D . . . The gelcoat came out chalky . . . probably due to my air compressor not being up...

Progress update . . . I got the underwater areas barrier coated. AF paint to follow. . . Also, the mechanical's and wiring in the bilge are done. . . I ended up putting the main bilge pump in the exact same place as it was. Two secondary pumps are more towards the transom.

Now I am sure some have been wondering about the gap on the sides of the extension bracket. . . My plan is to put stainless steel 'straps' in those gaps which will attach to both the boat and the extension bracket. Functional and somewhat decorative. . . I have some 316 bar stock on order and...
