    Mercruiser Bluewater inboards closed cooling retro-fit?

    My 30' Carver has twin Mercruiser 454s with velvet drive 72c hooked to Walter #36 v-drive. The raw water pump on the engine has the trans oil cooler and the v-drive on the suction side of the pump. Do they stay cooled by raw water or are they plumbed into the glycol side?

    Re: what kind of staple gun? I shot over 12,000 staples putting in a interior kit in my B-I-Ls 1973 Coronado. I found the reverse to be true. stainless would just bend in the old wood. Everything that is cream vinyl was dark brown when she was new.

    Cut her open today to see just how bad the rot is. Looks like it's just the first six feet from the transom. The stringers are mahogany.
