kilowatts[/QUOTE]

I am gonna go out on a limb here and say that he will not start it on the stand as I don't think he can. Need the flywheel installed to start it and you cannot put the flywheel on the motor while it is on the stand. Just my .02 from what I was seeing.

Kelly

Hench my original question.

I always floor start my junk. Place it on a puller just like you are going to install it then wire and fire. Just makes that leak you didnt know you had so much easier to find and repair. I bought a 83 olds in the nineties that had just had an engine put in. PO did not look very well and the freeze plugs were leaking behind the Bell housing. He was sick and tired of the project and sold it to me for what the engine cost him. 4 hours latter I had a great car for next to nothing. That is one of my biggest reasons for starting engines before I install them. And it just looks cool to have a mill running in the floor on open exhaust. Yes it is dangerous so if you do this be safe OK

Finallythe first start up Video. I think this will answer some questions.

This has been a great and long awaited weekend.

Looks great. Do me a favor chain that engine to something when starting it on a stand, I almost sh&* my self thinking it was going to fall in the floor. Bet with that wet floor that coil gave you a rude awakening. It is just too cool watching an engine like that isn't it? I pull an engine out of the shelf every so often and just crank them up for giggles.

I love it, I love it. Thanks everybody. Everybody gave me help and suggestions and I really appreciate that. I just got too excited & overlooked safety. Im gonna stab her in and do some more tuning. I might wait till I get the starter so it wont be that difficult to replace. Now I have to do the break in.

Thanks snakeriverfisher, Triton hit it on the nail. Iboats is the best boat forum that i know of. Trust me , I put some serious time surfing for info.

As far as an outboard, yeah, I could do that! The hard part would be putting together though.:D LOL. But dont sweat it, sooner or later some one will post. When its time for me to get a kicker, I will post.

You have done a great job there Azlo. I am thinking of rebuilding the motor that origanially came with my Islander, it is a straight 4 (120). Don't remember, did you punch out the cylinders? I just asking as I am thinking of doing that with mine and not sure if it is a good idea or not. The engine from the Apallo is going to go into the Islander for now and would like to make the other motor like brand new again so I will have a backup. No I do not have a lot of faith in an old engine.

If u mean sleeving, no Kelly. My cyls were ok but are .040 over. Hmmmm Maybe I should of gone .060. Im thinking the same you are. Im gonna look for another 140 and just experiment with it and have the original as backup. Would like to put flat pistons, roller rockers u know the basics. And maybe when I get a tig I can pratice on making a manifold. Wishful thinking aint it.
