Re: 1979 Imperial
Morning gang,
Thanks for all the complements on the transom install... Next I plan to grind down al the sharp nibs, and tab it in... I'm thinking a 8" layer of 1.5 oz CSM then 6" of 1708, followed by a 8" layer of 1708, all wet lay-ups... I really feel a layer of CSM between the two layers of 1708 is overkill... Please feel free to convince me otherwise...
I am also gettin close to final decisions weather to paint or gel. After talking with my supplier (also a pro boat builder) he recommends spraying gel... I just don't have the right compressor to do it correctly... So I'm thinking about using Interlux products for painting and sealing the bottom of the hull after glass repairs using roll tip method. I do plan on leaving the sides of the hull yellow, but the cap will be painted white with Interlux to match the bottom ( either Perfection or Brightside ) My supplier says the stuff cures as hard as nails and should have great durability... For my deck I'm really leaning towards light grey Durabak as this is a fishing boat, and I really liked using this product on my old Bayliner deck.
