Re: 87 Glassport rebuild, 16.5'
Erie about killed me...boats every where...ON THE WATER...my old buddies talking about there jet skis...and the one I sold...
I have been looking at one and have about talked myself into it...help hold me over till the boat is done and let me take my time and do everything right!!!
I finished glassing the stringers for the most part. I just have to go over the areas where the cross boards go and touch up the weep holes after grinding them out. Also, I put an addition layer of 1708 on the transom, to bring it out to 2".
Next I will cut the foam (yes going Lowes style) to fit between the stringers, before putting those top boards in. I am going to try and make a pattern out of cardboard and cut the foam with a hot wire setup...or a bow saw...it depends on how I feel at the time, lol

...then start making deck templates.
I also made a friend tonight. An older gentlemen stopped by too see what exactly I was doing to this poor boat. He is a neighbor from a few houses down that has been watching my progress. At first I thought he was going to complain about the mess...then he offered to help!!! After speaking for a half hour or so I managed to recruit another body to flip the hull!!!
