That doesn't sound like a shift cable. A shift cable that holds the interrupt switch will kill the engine completely.

How old is the fuel? If it's only a few months, that is not your issue. When was the last time you did plugs, rotor, cap? You change your fuel filter every year?

How does it run when all warmed up?

Skip the SeaFoam...waste of money.

The PO said it was sitting for.many months probably 6 months and he left the damn boat outside till it flooded the boat becuase i can see the water line and debree.. the starter butnt out the next day lol and the fuses blew so i replaced all those and chamged all the fluids and impeller it ran pretty good.once for an hour or 2.in the lake but i did notice itll run rough at lower rpm but fine at higher rpms.. so a week later i took it out and it just wouldnt start, it did once for like 10 sec very rough and it bogged out and it wouldnt turn on at all .. so im here now
I did notice some heavy build of antiseize on one mqin connector from the distrubutor to the little black box mounted on the side of the engine? I cleaned it up and i tried crancking it ran , in the beggining a little rough then it ran ok.. i gave it some gas and put back in neutral stayed on.. and i started it a couple of times fine on the first try.. So i dont know if i fixed it or not

To late i already added the seafom like 2 seeks ago.. lol i heard the other day itll cause issues ??
The bought a fuel filter and it was a little to tall so i hacked it down fo size and used the old bottom metal base from the old one and put it together and reaseembled lol after i did that the boat ran remarkabley good .. a week later is where im at still having little rough running engine , i will check plugs tomorrow

SeaFoam won't cause issues. It just doesn't do anything.

Your fuel filter modification is the thing you need to worry about. Why not get the right filter? I do not understand why you would do something like that.

Sounds like you need to do a carb rebuild.

When you get this thing running right, invest in a separate spin on water separating filter like all the bigger engines come with.

I saw you other video where you are running it on muffs with the drive tilted all the way up. NEVER EVER do that!

It's not the outside of the carb or the throat you need to be worried about. it's all the internal passages

It likely ripe cause it wasn't OEM. If money isn't the problem then go OEM and don't worry a bout it for 5 years or more. Follow along with Bruce and giver a tune up.

And about that speedomter sensor ? Will that cause an issue if a little tip off the male end is broken or chipped off?
