From what I can see in your pics, I know you read page 10 at least 10 times and you must have held your mouth just right. :D

WOW !!!!!!!!,...great job jon . i read most of your thread and ran out of time as i need to get in the yard and work on my '73 Starcraft American 15 . I have a fairly good transome but its starting to seperate from the skin at the top . So I'm going to fill it , clamp it and get the johnny mounted . I only wish i had the money , as work is sporadic here on Long Island Ny , I'd go for the complete restore . Again dude , you maxed out what could be done by an amature , but like you said , you could'nt do it w/o the guys here on iboats . a big GRATS on completion great ton of info and guidance and happy boating .

Hey Blacksting ...... Thanks for stopping by. I am still a step or two away from completion but I can feel that I am getting closer. Good luck on your Starcraft. Lots of great help here on iboats from some great guys with a lot of experience.

I touched up a few spots on the cap that had to be sanded before the final coat and I used a rattle can of primer and I have a little over spray on the hull. Can I just wipe this off with Acetone or will that dull the area that I wipe? Not sure how to get this very light mist of over spray off without ruining the paint job on the hull.

Jon,
I would try a small amount of rubbing alcohol on it. Apply to a soft rag and rub gently in a circlar motion. How long has it been since you did the paint job? I'd leave it be until the paint job is at least 3 to 4 weeks old. Hope that helps.

Thanks ED ..... I am going to give the alcohol a try. I painted the hull in October.

Got any Clay??? If you spray it with soapy water and use some clay on it, it will come right off and not hurt the paint at all.

Clay????? What kind of clay? That's a new one on me. Do you use it like you are wet sanding it?

That's crazy ...... I must say I have never heard of that. I guess I will go to the parts store and get some of that stuff. Thanks for the tip and the video.

Hey
Man when Youngstown gets rain it gets buckets of it. Longest 30min drive I've had in awhile. Just making a down & dirty, quick pickup in the morning & running back down to WV by 1pm:D

Got clay?
