Sweet!! I love those 50'-55' Chris Crafts and Hatteras?. I wouldn't mind being a part of the 15-10 (15' 10") club some day.

What is the 15-10 club, Greg?

Here are some photos for you of the woodwork, and in my opinion some good joinery work. My lady and mate has done a good job in taking care if the interior. We still have a ways to go .

It's a rough life, isn't it, sasto? It must suck, having to be around these beautiful boats all the time. And to make matters worse... you even have to accept money for your time and efforts.;) You live a very blessed life, sasto. I understand you're cherishing every moment as it is, but holy cow, man!!! Kharma is a beautiful thing, when you're on her good side!!!:D

I like the idea of having the carpets covered with the canvas work. I'll think I'll do that to mine since everyone I know seems to want to go out of their way to try and destroy my carpets.

Now if I could just find someone who knows upholstery...

Kharma.......isn't it interesting? ;)

What goes around, comes around. Life goes full circle. Everything you do in life comes back to you threefold. You reap what you sough, get what you give, and somehow, always deserve what you get. Sometimes it's just hard to figure out why... what did I do to deserve this???:rolleyes: It's always something... Good, bad, or indifferent.

Yes... Very interesting indeed.;)

It is a wonderful thing to be able to work a job that is a love, veritas honus. I think karma is God's way of saying "thank you".

I know an upholstery guy, Fireman. I don't have his name or number but I can send him a PM. They are nice to have and I usually remove them when the bossman has company. I'm having problems with the one on the spiral staircase. The pins don't like to stay screwed in due to the thick carpet and the short shank of the screw. Any suggestions?

It's a Hatteras club made up of people who own Hatteras' that have a beam of 15'10". This is mainly the 53' boats but I also think that it basically includes the 58' Yachtfish down to and maybe the 48' Aft-Cabin models. I have several friends that own 53' Hatteras'. Great boats.

Very few see Kharma as a good thing. What a shame!!! Positive and proper mental attitude, my friend... "Kharma is God's way of saying "thank you"." Very profound, Mike... And very well spoken.

As a United States Army Ranger, someone once asked me, "Isn't it hard, always doing the right thing?" I told her, "No, things start getting hard when you don't..."

See ya soon, my Friend.

Sasto,

The architecture of that boat is beautiful. I absolutely love the woodwork. I also love the idea of replacing that entertainment center with an electric radiant heat fireplace.

I'm so glad you started this thread, sasto. Thank you for sharing this adventure with all of us!!!

Oh, thanks Greg. I guess I'm a member of the 15-5 club. Here is a shot of a 53 Hatt I look after. They make a tough battlewagon. There are some simularities as you have noted.

If I'm understanding this correctly, the pins won't stay secure in the stair decking. You can get longer pins, or install rivets into the carpet to avoid drilling into the decking. The latter would mean pulling up small portions of the carpet everywhere a rivot needs to be installed. Sounds like more work than it actually is; besides, working on a boat... can it really be considered work? If you go with the rivots, back them with canvas so they don't wear into the decking beneath.

All because of you, my friend.

Here is what the sat. TV guy did with the cable. He removed a slider knob from the window and ran the cable thru it. Wasn't his fault, that was all he was required to do. Now it's my job to do some drilling and hide this embarassment to me. Note the Hatteras in the window?

Here is what I have now. The screw needs to be longer. I don't know what they are called, but I will find

How thick is that cabin wall where the rail is secured? You may be able to fish it through that same cabin wall and make it disappear.

Those are 5/8". You'll need 3/4" or 7/8". 7/8th would probably be the better choice. Just make sure there's no wiring running underneath the placement points. If Fireman doesn't already have them, I bet he can get them. Where are you Fireman???

Re: New Job, 501 Constellation, Good and Bad.

There are few installers of that type that take pride in their work, that was apparently one of them. The cable is not even neatly installed on the outside much less installed properly. I know it would be more work but there has to be a way to run that cable out of site on the inside to a point very near the dish, just have to take pride in your work. I am sure you will find a much better way to install that.
