Trim tabs rub trailer rail ends. What to do?

I have added trim tabs to the back of my boat but when on the trailer they line right over the trailer rails. So everytime I land the boat I have to undo the tabs so they don't bend over the rails.
What would you recommend doing to prevent this? Trim 4" off the back of the trailer rails and relocate the lights? Or land the boat 4" short and strap it down? Can't move the trailer winch and guide roller down because where it is mounted to the frame it Y's off at that point. Do they make a winch & roller extension maybe?

Any ideas appreicated

They sell a kit that allows you to pull up and stow the tabs withou having to disconnect them. Or, you could move the lights.

Are the tabs actually resting on the bunks (rails)? Hitting the lights? I can't really tell. You can modify the front winch stand in a variety of ways including replacement, but I would be concerned about reduced tongue weight . . . especially with a single axle trailer. I like the idea of just cutting off the excess and relocating the lights if the tabs are indeed hitting stuff and being compressed. Have you checked with Nauticus about storing them compressed?

They are resting on the bunks (disconnected in the picture). No they don't hit the lights. I have check with nauticus and they say its ok to store compressed.
If I allow the bunks to compress them however the tabs will warp .

Thanks for the replies so far.

WhereBob,

Repost the email problem here. Let's see if we can get any action there. We have had many issues with AOL email addies, but most others seem fine. Good luck.

Talked with Nauticus today. They suggest I pull them up and cable them up to something. Its ok to store them that way too, in fact its better according to John at Nauticus as it stores the arms inside the sleeve where all the lubricants are.
