Re: 1982 Sylvan Bassboat project
Finally home and glad that drive back from FL is over. 20+ hours and today was a beautiful Easter in Michigan. I loved my vacation and the time I got to spend with my wife at the beach. I hate to say it but meeting Gus and the Bassassin might have been the highlight of my trip!
No fair... You got to see and touch the Bassasin.....
{and meet Gus in person}
The bassassin and Gus were both so cool. It's weird to see a boat you know almost as well as your own for the first time.
OMG, Gus, you look just like one of my best friends in the whole World. Guy by the name of Chuck Green! Wow I gotta find a pic of him and post it. I think you'll agree. WOW, amazing resemblance. Looks like you guys had a great time. I'm Jealous.
I had never seen a picture of Gus before I met him but the minute I got out of my car I felt like I was meeting an old friend. We did have a great time and I can't wait to hook up with you some day Wood!
Yep looks like craigs got his share of that fla sunshine! Cool hat GT!
SP, I should have used spf 10000, that FL sunshine fried my *****
Super happy you kids got to meet and hang out! looks like good times! Did GT put ya to work?
iboats rules!
Brutha Bear, he was WAAAAYYYYY to kind to put me to work. I felt bad I didn't have more time to hang with him. I would have gladly lended a hand on the Bassassin for the afternoon.
Congrats on getting together. Looks like good times! There was a dive in Las Vegas near the Stratosphere casino that had GREAT cuban food. And I've been known to have a few La Cubana sands for breakfast or lunch, occasionally both.... Was seeing the BBE everything it was cracked up to be?
All this talk about 'hooked up' supplies. I don't see any supplies...... And when do we start to glass in some stringers?
Just for Sihts & giggles: What's the penalty for transporting HazMat materials across state lines?
JBC, What supplies you talkin about bro? The BBE was a bit deflated as Gus has been redesigning it in prep for his upcoming stringer work. I got to go in the BBE for a few and actually touch the Bassassin. It was so cool to ask questions and see her first hand. BTW that trailer that looked so cool on his thread was even more awesome in person. I will be copying some of his bunk design on mine after seeing how well the Bassassin sat on there!
I don't know what you're talking about transportin hazzardous materials and such

Why would I, such a kind meek law abiding citizen try and cheat the system like that? Or take such risk's just to save a few coin

?
Just don't pull into any of those way stations !
SP, I avoid the man with a vengance
Ok, now that I'm safely home and got the yard cought back up, I guess I could show yall what the Easter bunny brought me
I don't have any clue how those things ended up in my garage, lol somebody must like me?
I'll be putting in my order with US Composites on Thursday (payday) for the rest of the materials I need! If all goes well you'll see some transom and stringer work begin this week. I'll also be postin pics of the trailer restore I started before I left on vacation. Right now I gotta go catch up on my other iBoats brothers progress while I was gone.
Big mucho grande gracious mi amigo Gustavo! You rock Brutha! It was a true pleasure hangin with you for the short time we had!
