    1985 Johnson V4 140 hp idling problem

can't do much fine tuning running on muffs, if that's the plan.

1999 Johnson 150 Bogs when warm

Could be. Can't do a whole lot of testing on muffs. The incoming water is about 40 degrees (F), so that would probably yield slightly cooler running than in an 80 degree lake. But since the hose pressure is pushing the water up, can't tell much about the function of the water pump. A...

1976 Evinrude 6hp..only getting spark in one cylinder.

The plate support under the ignition plate may be upside down, producing the wobble.

1999 Johnson 150 Bogs when warm

Do some basic tests if you haven't done so yet. Get an infrared tester and measure the temp at the top of the heads. Around 140F would be normal. 160 or over is definitely overheating.

1979 115 hp 115999R Evinrude Outboard runs great in test tank at fast & slow idle, does not in when I put in the water

"I have not checked the compression or the spark, as i figured the way it runs in the tank, that must be OK." You need to check both. On the water contamination, any running you did before installation of the filter would potentially have contaminated the carb.

    1950's Fleetwin Fisherman Challenge!

    Fleetwin is a 7 1/2, Fisherman is a 5 1/2, Yachtwin can be a 9.9 or 8 (possibly a 6 as well -- not sure of that.)

1979 115 hp 115999R Evinrude Outboard runs great in test tank at fast & slow idle, does not in when I put in the water

carb is probably clogged, or water killing power. (in a glass jar, btw, water will be visible at the bottom if present)

    Stumped on ignition problem

My guess is the under-the-flywheel power pack. Go to the marine engine site for some instructive details (find you engine, and click on ignition).

1988 15HP Johnson outboard grey oil after motor flusher

Welcome to 2-cycles. 40:1 is too rich imo -- 50:1 with good 2-cyle oil would be better and cleaner. Folks using synthetic 2-cycle outboard oil report cleaner burning.

1979 115 hp 115999R Evinrude Outboard runs great in test tank at fast & slow idle, does not in when I put in the water

You have water or debris in you tank (guessing it's a built in tank). A shop runs with its own gas for control purposes. Run with a portable tank and fresh fuel. You may have to clean the carbs again.
